Peter Facinelli Plays Doctor in NYC and Gears Up For Breaking Dawn With a Bake Sale

Peter Facinelli was in NYC yesterday getting to work on season three of Nurse Jackie. He made a brief pit stop at home in LA earlier this week after wrapping up a Twilight fan appreciation tour. He took a break from shooting to stop by The Wendy Williams Show, where he sweetly asked his fans to support him in the Cookies for Kids' Cancer charity bake sale. Peter has a lot on his plate, and production on Breaking Dawn is around the corner this Fall. He recently told us he hadn't yet seen the script, but he did already attend a wardrobe fitting as he preps to step back into Dr. Cullen's shoes. While Peter's happy to talk about the saga andclear up Robert Pattinson rumors, the whole cast generally steers clear of questions about Rob and Kristen's relationship.

Peter Facinelli Loosens Up His Schedule to Swing by The Today Show

Peter Facinelli was up early this morning to make an appearance on The Today Show. He was there to chat about his latest movie, Eclipse, which Peter dutifully promoted across the country at premieres, fan events, and on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Peter talked about what his three daughters make of his role as Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight series and also discussed his new movie, Loosies, which he wrote and will start filming in two days in Providence, RI — check out Peter's interview after the jump.

Peter Facinelli Makes the Most of His One Day in NYC

Peter Facinelli enjoyed his only afternoon in NYC yesterday before he was back on the roadtraveling to Phoenix. He had time to make a cameo at an event celebrating Father's Day, which is appropriate because Peter's among our favorite hot dads of the year! He's been busy promoting Eclipse in the US, while his costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner take care of things in Europe. Taylor's kept his hot bod under wraps while overseas, but Peter would apparently show off his abs all the time — Peter said, "If I had that six-pack, I would never wear a shirt!" Even fully clothed, Peter still gets lots of love from fans and wound up scoring the100th spot in the PopSugar 100. He and Jennie Garth are testing the waters to see if they'll also get lucky in the real estate market, as they've just listed their LA home for sale.

IESB: So are you getting ready for this big epic finale Breaking Dawn, they are saying it’s a two parter, possibly 3D, are they telling you to expect double the time for production?

PF: I haven’t really thought about it much. We just came off of New Moon and I’m still in the gear of finishing up Eclipse, I’m getting ready to go out and promote Eclipse, that’s my favorite book so I am excited to see that one hit the screens. But, I haven’t really put much thought into Breaking Dawn, I think it will be bittersweet but I will be excited to be able to finish up this series and then move on from there.

IESB: I know Kristen Stewart is saying she is excited to see it broken up into a two-parter, would you like to see it that way?

PF: I would. I think it’s a very big book, makes a great doorstop (laughing). It’s a very thick book and has a lot of stuff going on so to try to squeeze that into two hours would be difficult so I think making it into two makes the most sense. I don’t even know if they’ve made a decision on that yet, I heard that’s what they were steering towards. But, I let them do their thing, when they call me to show up on set, that’s where I’ll be, I let them do the business stuff and I’m supportive of their decisions. Summit has done a good job with the books so far with picking the directors and putting the movies out there so I defer to them on those decisions and I’m just excited to bring Carlisle to life.

ET: What will we learn about Dr. Carlisle Cullen in ‘Eclipse’?

Peter Facinelli: You get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before. There are some great battle sequences.

ET: Any word on ‘Breaking Dawn’?

Peter Facinelli: I don’t know. Usually, the fans know before we do.

ET: Did you ever think that ‘Twilight’ was going to do so much for your career?

Peter Facinelli: The fan base has been so phenomenal. When you go to an event, people have flown in from other countries just to take a picture with you. That is a loyal fan base that you can’t even imagine having. I am thankful for all of them. That is why I try to give back in connecting with them [on Twitter].
